Priapus shot (P-Shot®)
PRP (platelet rich plasma) injection into the penis
Many men would agree with the statement that the penis is the most important organ in their body. Although not crucial for daily survival, the proper functioning of the penis is key to intimate relationships. Difficulties in achieving or maintaining an erection or worries about the size of the penis, its shape or curvature, or pain can affect self-esteem or create problems between partners.
Fortunately, the human body is able to heal itself by using stem cells through which tissues regenerate. PRP is based on concentrated platelets rich in bioactive proteins that saturate with growth factors to stimulate and accelerate cell regeneration. PRP started in various medical fields such as the treatment of wounds and sports injuries, but nowadays it is used in aesthetic medicine, as well as in cases related to sexual dysfunction.
What is PRP?
PRP means platelet rich plasma, or platelet rich plasma. This is a category of regenerative autologous therapies – based on the patient’s own blood, which is used to stimulate cell regeneration and tissue repair. Platelets are suitable for this purpose because when activated, they saturate the surrounding tissues with growth factors and other beneficial proteins.
What is P-Shot®?
P-Shot® is a PRP therapy of the penis, an abbreviated form of Priapus Shot, named after the Greek god of fertility and male genitals Priapus. Dr. Charles Runels devised the procedure and tested it on himself.
What are the benefits of P-Shot®?
How P-Shot® works?
Growth factors and proteins that result from the high concentration of platelets in PRP activate stem cells and stimulate cell regeneration in the area of the body in which they are applied. The synthesis of collagen and new blood vessels is also stimulated and further facilitates recovery.
How does the P – Shot® procedure happens?
A small amount of blood is required from the patient, which is taken to the clinic during the procedure. The blood is then treated in a special centrifuge that separates the platelets and plasma from the residue. Platelets are isolated and later injected back into the patient’s body, and more specifically in the area where their positive properties are needed. Anesthetic skin cream and local anesthesia of the penis take care of the patient’s comfort during P-Shot®.
The duration of the procedure is about 60 minutes. P-Shot® does not disrupt the patient’s routine – driving and operating machines can continue immediately after the procedure. Patients can be sexually active on the same day, but not earlier than four hours after the procedure.
The Skin line innovation
An innovation in our clinics is the additional enrichment of PRP plasma. To achieve a better effect, our specialists add cocktails of vitamins, minerals, amino acids, nucleic acids, coenzymes, trace elements, antioxidants, non-crosslinked hyaluronic acid and others. After an individual consultation with each patient, dermatologists assess the amount and type of enrichment will be needed. Plasma, rich in platelets, growth factors, micro- and macronutrients, affects the skin in two ways – on the one hand, growth factors awaken skin stem cells to divide, and on the other hand through additional vitamins, minerals, amino acids and more. promotes the growth of these cells.
Is there anything else I will have to do after the procedure?
Yes. To achieve the optimal effect of the procedure, it is necessary to apply VED (vacuum device for achieving an erection or penis pump) twice a day. It only takes a few minutes, but its absence reduces the strength of the positive effects.
What are the possible side effects of P-Shot®?
PRP is obtained from the patient’s own blood. This means that the side effects are few in number and not severe. These include slight bleeding, bruising or swelling.
