The GentleMax Pro Plus is a dual wavelength laser platform that combines the fastest and most powerful 755 nm alexandrite laser with an equally powerful 1064 nm Nd:YAG laser. Thus, the GentleMax Pro Plus guarantees high-quality treatment of unwanted hair with unrivalled speed, efficacy, ease of use, efficiency, safety and patient satisfaction.
Laser hair removal is based on the selective absorption in the chromophore melanin, which is mainly found in the hair shaft and follicle and in a smaller amount in the skin, depending on the skin color. The aim is for the pigment in the hair follicle to absorb the heat emitted by the laser to heat and destroy the cells covering the hair follicle. For the procedure to be successful, the hair must be treated in the anagen (active) phase of the growth cycle.

With GentleMax Pro Plus all previous challenges to laser hair removal such as inability to treat fine and light hairs, soreness and discomfort, large number of treatments required, inability to treat tanned skin and others are solved.

The record short laser pulse of 2ms allows successful treatment of even the finest and thinnest hairs. This increases the final result of laser hair removal many times over, i.e. the main challenge for laser hair removal are the areas with residual fine and light hairs.
The 3Hz laser pulse frequency, or the ability of the GentleMax Pro Plus to produce 3 pulses of equal power and energy within 1 second, allows for twice as short treatments, for example one of the largest areas of the body – the entire legs – takes 20 minutes. Another advantage with the GentleMax Pro Plus is the large spots – 20 to 26mm – which allow each area to be performed with far fewer laser pulses. The combination of these two features, which differentiate Candela from other laser systems and previous generations of GentleMax, save additional time and give additional comfort to the patient.

Treatment of unwanted hair with Candela GentleMax Pro Plus is contraindicated for: YAG laser within two weeks prior to the procedure); Have used tanning beds or complexion altering products such as creams, lotions, and sprays; Have taken medications known to increase sensitivity to sunlight; Have light-induced seizures; Have taken anticoagulants, oral isotretinoin, within the past six months; Have taken medications that alter wound healing response; Have a history of healing problems or a history of keloid formation; Have an active localized or systemic infection or open wound in the treated area; Have significant systemic disease or disease localized to the treated area; Have a history of skin cancer or suspicious lesions or have lupus; Are receiving or have received gold therapy; In pregnancy and breastfeeding.
Adverse side effects of treating unwanted hair loss with Candela Gentle Max Pro Plus may include blistering, scabbing, crusting, pustules, burns, hypopigmentation, hyperpigmentation, erythema, edema, and scarring. WARNING: Subcutaneous injection of lidocaine or other local anesthetic prior to laser treatment may increase the incidence of adverse effects such as burns, erythema, and blistering.
WARNING: To reduce the incidence of adverse effects such as burns, erythema, and blistering, do not treat sun-exposed areas of skin with Alex 755 nm.
IMPORTANT: The effectiveness of treatment and the possibility of adverse effects are directly related to the laser settings and energy used: higher levels of energy used increase the effectiveness of treatment, but also increase the possibility of adverse effects.
