As the aging processes take place, the volume and fullness of our facial characteristics are slowly lost. This is caused by the lower production and higher loss of collagen, elastin and hyaluronic acid after our 25th years. As a result, our skin starts sagging and forming wrinkles, changing the entire appearance of the face.
Ellanse by Sinclair Pharma is an injectable dermal filler from a new generation, which has the role of a biostimulator of new collagen, addressing signs of aging of the skin with a unique double effect. Ellanse injection stimulate the natural synthesis of new collagen. The most important thing that you must know is that instead of focusing only on the immediate and short-term results after the procedure, Ellanse improves the quality and appearance of the skin in a long-term plan.
Many patients confuse Ellanse with a hyaluronic dermal filler, but it is not one – it is made from polycaprolactone, a bioresorbable medical polymer, which is reabsorbed by the body in a period of 12-24 months. The product is then replaced by your own collagen, which recovers lost volumes, heals the skin and improves its quality.
Ellanse is suitable for men and women of different ages. It can address problem zones such as nasolabial folds, volume loss in the zone of the cheeks, scars (including acne scars) and sagging skin. It is an ideal choice for a long-term solution for fine lines and wrinkles, recovery of lost volume in the middle third of the face and stimulation and regeneration of lost collagen. Ellanse can recover facial contours, tighten sagging skin, improve the definition of the jaw line and other zones of the face. The results from Ellanse last between one and four years.
• Zones of the face - cheeks, chin, jawline, nasolabial and marionette fold - for smoothing of fine lines and wrinkles, recovery of lost volumes
• For acne scars, uneven texture of the skin - for correctiond of skin texture
• Hands - for recovery of lost volume, correction of “skeletal” appearance of the hands
Hyaluronic fillers fill lost volumes by replacing them with a hyaluronic gel. Ellanse first fills them with polycaprolactone, which is in time absorbed by the body and replaced by the own collagen of the patient - the so-called biostimulator effect. Ellanse is different, as it achieves the desired aesthetic results in the short term, as well as in the long term and it achieves improvements not only in the appearance, but in the quality and health of the skin.
The combination of smooth PCL microspheres with a carrying gel based on CMC, Ellanse starts working immediattely, filling the zones that have lost volume. Afterwards, the microspheres are absorbed by the body in time, leaving behind collagen structures, which recover and reshape the contours of the face to restore the youthful infrastructure of the skin. It has a long-lasting effect, which decreases the need for additional treatments.
Who is a good patient for Ellanse?
Ellanse is suitable for a wide array of patients. During the aesthetic consultation with your doctor, you will discuss which zones concern you, what results you expect and your personal anamnesis and you will determine whether Ellanse is the best product for you. If you have receently had other dermal fillers, we might have to postpone your Ellanse treatment.
How does the procedure take place?
Similar to all other injectable treatments, the one with Ellanse is fast – it takes less than 30 minutes, during which your doctor will inject the product with a suitable technique using a few injection points. In this way, they will build the framework for the new collagen that will form in time.
How many Ellanse treatments are needed?
Treatment with Ellanse is a one-off procedure. The effect’s longevity is determined by the different lengths of polycaprolactone chains in the different types of Ellanse – 12 months for Ellanse S and 24 months for Ellanse M. After this period, the procedure can be repeated to maintain the effect and slow down the aging processes.
Does it hurt?
Just like most injectable products, Ellanse contains lidocaine – a local anaesthetic, which decreases pain and discomfort. If you’d like, your doctor can also apply a topical lidocaine cream before the procedure for additional pain relief. All our doctors take care of your comfort during the procedure.
What are the possible side effects?
Just like most injectable procedures, the possible side effects are redness, swelling or hematomas (bruising) in the zones of injection. If they take place, they go away between a couple of days and a week from the procedure. Those side effects will not disturb your normal daily routine. Your doctor will give you instructions on how to take care of your skin after the procedure and invite you for a consultation after some time to assess the results.
What results can I expect?
After injecting Ellanse, you will see improvements and an increase of volume. Unlike hyaluronic fillers, Ellanse will be reabsorbed after a couple of months. During this time, your body starts synthesizing collagen, which covers the microspheres of the product. This will create a long-lasting volume in the skin tissues. You will notice a better and better effect due to the stimulation of the own regenerative processes in your skin.
How long does the effect from Ellanse last?
Ellanse created long term results, making it a semi-permanent injectable product. Similar to hyaluronic fillers, it gets metabolized by the body with time, but this reabsorbtion process takes longer (between 1 and 4 years, depending on the product used). The results from Ellanse, however, do not only depend on how long it takes for the body to metabolize the product. The stimulation of own collagen will last way after the product is reabsorbed.
