Ageing of the skin

Ageing of the skin

is a natural process in which our skin gradually loses parts of its basic building blocks

Human skin structure

SkinStructure
Human skin has three layers – epidermis (the outermost layer of the skin), dermis and hypodermis (subcutaneous tissue).
Dermis is the second layer of the skin. It is mainly made of connective tissue containing collagen and elastin. In between are extracellular substances such as hyaluronic acid. Fibroblasts are the main cells of the dermis which are responsible for synthesizing and organizing the structural elements of the dermis – collagen and elastin which build the skeleton of the skin and hyaluronic acid which maintains its water balance. Skin aging is a natural process in which the content of collagen, elastin and hyaluronic acid in the skin decreases due to a slowing down of their renewal process. Fortunately, aesthetic medicine has developed methods to stimulate the reproduction of collagen and elastin or to replenish lost hyaluronic acid. At Skin Line Aesthetic Clinics, we have all the anti-aging tools available and our dermatologists will offer you the most appropriate treatments for your individual condition and age.
20s

At the age of 20 to 30 years

no signs of aging of the skin. All the building blocks of our skin are at 100% and therefore it is hydrated, soft, gentle, smooth, supple and toned. The face is expressive, wrinkle-free and with a pronounced youthful glow.

From 20 to 30 years of age, skin care is primarily prevention of premature aging – sun protection, active lifestyle, proper nutrition, abstinence from alcohol and smoking, avoidance of stress, light cleansing and moisturizing treatments, appropriate home care recommended by a dermatologist. Depending on the individual condition, we recommend botulinum toxin treatments to relax the musculature and prevent expression lines in the forehead and around the eyes.
30s

At the age of 30 to 40 years

the skin has begun to lose its essential building blocks and the first signs of skin ageing appear. Mimic wrinkles on the forehead and around the eyes begin to become static. The first pigment spots and the first signs of sagging skin appear.

At this age, it is important that the skin is well hydrated and toned and that mimic wrinkles are blocked from becoming static. To restore lost hyaluronic acid, we recommend cosmetic and injectable treatments such as HydraGlow, Oxygen Hydration, Geneo+, hydrating mesotherapy, hyaluronic boosters, PRP Plasmotherapy and botulinum toxin to block expression lines. To restore collagen, elastin and fibroblasts, we recommend laser treatments – such as LASERfacial and laser rejuvenation.
40s

At the age of 40 to 50 years

Depending on our lifestyles, we lose about 1% of the collagen, elastin and fibroblasts contained in our skin on average per year due to ageing. Our facial lines begin to sag, most visibly in the lower face. At the same time, the lost building material in our skin also leads to volume loss.

At this age, we recommend treatments to generally tone and stimulate the production of new collagen, elastin and fibroblasts such as LPG Endermolift, Venus Legacy, InmodeFORMA, Morpheus8, Radiesse, our Signature PRP and Signature PRF proprietary regenerative treatments; blocking mimic wrinkles with botulinum toxin and adding hyaluronic acid to restore lost volume and water content to the skin – hyaluronic mesotherapy and dermal fillers. Different types of laser treatments to combat hyperpigmentation and photoaging such as LASERfacial and laser rejuvenation are also appropriate.
50s

At the age of 50 to 60 years

all the signs of skin ageing are clearly visible – our skin loses its supporting structure and sags, the chin merges with the neck, pigmentation increases, the skin roughens and dries out, we lose extra volume in the cheekbones and temples

60s

At the age of 60 to 70 years

skin aging is irreversible – all the building blocks of our skin are depleted and therefore it is dry, wrinkled, uneven and pigmented. Facial lines are sagging due to the lost foundation.
